A small area (3 cm x 3 cm) on both sides of the chest may need to be shaved for acquiring optimal image quality of the heart.
Please note that all new patients are subjected to echocardiography. A typical appointment is 45 minutes. It includes checking in, history taking, physical examination, and echocardiography (if indicated, additional diagnostic tests of x-rays, EKG, blood work, or blood pressure).
